đ Whatâs Happeninâ in St. Louis this week
LOCAL SPOTLIGHT OF THE WEEK:
Tee Rak Thai
Tee Rak Thai is a standout destination for authentic Southeast Asian flavors in the Shaw neighborhood. Owner and chef Alada had a mission to bring authentic Thai flavors to St. Louis. The name "Tee Rak" is a Thai term of endearment meaning "My Love," which represents Aladaâs passion for the traditional cooking styles she learned in her home village near Chiang Rai. Alada moved to St. Louis in 2020 and was inspired to start her own business after finding that local Thai offerings didn't match the authenticity of the food she grew up with.
The menu offers a thoughtful balance of familiar Thai classics and unique regional specialties. Popular choices include their crispy Thai chicken wings and handmade spring rolls served with a signature sweet chili sauce. Whether visiting for a casual lunch or a weekend dinner, guests find an inviting atmosphere that makes the diverse tastes of Thailand accessible and welcoming.
Tee Rak Thai is closed on Tuesdays. Open for lunch 11 a.m.- 2 p.m. Open for dinner 5 p.m.-9 p.m. (10 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday).
