LOCAL SPOTLIGHT OF THE WEEK:
The Improv Shop

The Improv Shop is St. Louisās premier destination for long-form improvisation, serving as both a performance venue and a comprehensive training center in the Grove neighborhood. As a theater, it hosts live comedy nearly every night of the week, featuring a diverse rotation of house teams, independent troupes, and experimental sketch or stand-up shows. Patrons can enjoy these performances in a full-service setting that includes a bar and kitchen, making it a popular local spot for dinner and a show.
For those looking to step onto the stage themselves, the classes and workshops offer a rigorous multi-level curriculum that guides students from the basic skills to advanced long-form structures. Beyond the core classes, the shop provides specialty workshops in areas like sketch writing and musical improv, alongside diversity scholarships and community jams designed to make the art form accessible to everyone.
