Storm Toll on Local Business

One thing about St. Louisans, we support each other! Back in 2021, a hail storm affected the local business, Kindred Furniture. This unique shoppe offers one of a kind pieces that are thoughtfully constructed and artfully crafted from our own Missouri lands. Since the hail storm however, Kindred Furniture has not received adequate response from insurance and has suffered much loss. Without proper restorations, the shoppe remains vulnerable to future storm damage and flooding. This has cause much of the machines and the warehouse itself to be struggling to get back on track. It is heartbreaking circumstances and if you know of any ways to support or spread the word, it is appreciated. 🪑🛋🌦

Thursday, July 31st

• Celebrating Quantum with Dr. Krause Von Klitzing: This mind bending show takes place at the OMNIMAX and will dive into the fascinating world of quantum physics! You won’t want to miss this celebration of the World Year of Quantum Science and Technology. Event starts at 6:45pm 🔭📐📏

• Jazz Night at The Vandy: A night of swinging fun, live music, and deliciously curated cocktails. Event starts at 5pm 🎷🎺

• PÂRED Presents “War of the Rosés”: Work & Leisure will be showcasing this sophisticated event of elevated food and wine pairings that tell a story from Executive Chef Liz Schuster. Event runs from 6:30-9:30pm 🍽🍷

• Ribbon Cutting for Rosemary Coffee Co: Celebrate small business and ethically sourced coffee with this opening ceremony event! This coffee shop donates $1 for every coffee bean bag sold and has a lending library 📚 for the curious mind and appetite - runs from 1-1:45pm 🎀 ✂️ ☕️

• Dive-In Movie: This ice cold movie event is the perfect way to beat the summer heat ☀️! Watch the Disney classic, “Frozen” while enjoying a snow cone at the pool. Entry is at 7:30pm, movie at 8pm 🏊‍♀️ ⛄️❄️ 🍿 

• BBQ for a Cause: Enjoy some finger lickin’ bbq for a good cause this Thursday at Salt + Smoke! The quarterly fundraiser is back supporting River Blenders of Sweet Adelines International. 20% of proceeds go to cause when you mention “GIVEBACK.” Starts at 4pm 🔥🍖

Friday, August 1st

• A Midsummer RoverNight’s Dream by Stray Rescue: If you are seriously thinking about adopting a cat or dog consider this fostering event! Where you can take home a dog or cat and give it a try! Event starts at 4pm 🐶 

• St. Louis Fool Us Magician - First Friday Magic Show: You won’t believe your senses with this magic show performance by Magic Amanda! Come out to LuvWoo Bar every First Friday if the month for laughs and mystical experiences. Event starts at 8:30pm 🪄 

• Mr. Blue Sky - A Tribute to Electric Light Orchestra: Have an electric ⚡️ night at The Chesterfield Amphitheater with this tribute to ELO! Tickets range $20-60 and food trucks will be there! Concert happening at 6pm 🌳 

• Women Empowerment Gala: Be inspired by incredible women 🎉 and have a empowering dinner 🍽 for this connection event in Maryland Heights. Grab your tickets in advance! Gala is from 6-10pm

• Covering Fire Headlines Sky Music Lounge: Covering Fire is back at Sky Music Lounge! This bar is a fun outdoor time that shows out the latest and best in live music. Starts at 9pm 🎶

• 60th Anniversary Party of Dunnaway Books: With the new school year just around the corner, what better way to restock those libraries than by a visit to Dunnaway Books! This weekend’s event will mark the 60th Anniversary 🎂, and include poetry, food, & drinks - begins at 5pm 📚

• Last Afternoon Teas at Crema: Get your tickets 🎟 & fancy attire on for this tea party which will include bottomless teas, tasty scones, & desserts! Event lasts from 3:30-5pm 🫖

Stop by this eatery on The Hill and try out traditional St. Louis food items like sizzling toasted ravioli (or grab a frozen bag to go!), stacked sub sandwiches, and don’t forget to save room for dessert 😉! Stay for a while and watch the chefs prepare the ravioli fresh in store. We recommend the Caesar Roast Beef! 🥪
