We are officially in peak summer season! This is not a drill. In this summer issue of The Lou we will take a look at picnic sites occurring, parties happening, and some of the many concert performances! If you are in the mood to brunch, see new art, hear new music, and celebrate soccer, we have you covered. Food week is happening along with Christmas in July. A few new businesses are also opening both locally and around the city. We also shine a spotlight on Shaw Nature Reserve, which will be 100 this year 🎂! So sit back and relax, because the moment of reveal for all things St. Louis happenings is here 📰

What’s Happenin’ in St. Louis 👀

Thursday, July 10th

  • Foam Gone Bananas Foam Party: This free event is fun for all ages and located at the Brentwood Community Center! Dress to get foamy with Chef Banana as he has 2 foam canons ready for a fruity and refreshing time. Event takes place from 6:15-8pm 🍌 🫧 

  • Italian Wine & Small Plates: If you haven’t had a chance to visit Vom Fass, here’s your chance to taste 5 menu items with a wine pairing. Hear from a wine expert and have an Italian night! Event starts at 6pm 🍷 🍝 

  • Summer Concert Series - John Hughes Experience in Millennium Park: Grab a blanket and come out to Millennium Park for a throwback concert featuring 80s classic from John Hughes cinema! BBQ and snacks will also be available to purchase. Event runs from 6:30-8:30pm 🎞🌳 

  • St. Louis Walk to End Alzheimer’s Kick-off Celebration at 4Hands: Do you like making friends, coming together for a powerful cause, and having fun while doing so? Come walk to support the fight to end Alzheimer’s! Enjoy some tasty bites at 4Hands Brewing Co while you’re at it - event runs from 4-7pm 💜

  • Jon Cournoyer - Nothing is What We Thought it Was: If you are in the Richmond Heights Area, plan a visit to Hoffman LaChance Contemporary to see new artwork from Jon Cournoyer, a St. Louis based artist! Reception runs from 6-9pm 🖼

  • Billy Peek, “Blues Cruise” at Gateway Arch: Cruise down the mighty Mississippi while listing to a blues show from the one and only Billy Peek! Cash bar and concessions will be available. Boarding starts at 8pm and cruise lasts until 11pm. 🎶 🚢 

Friday, July 11th

  • Tiny Tot Olympics: Everyone is a winner in this family fun event featuring age appropriate activities and crafting for children! $10 per child Goes from 4:30-6pm.🤸‍♀️

  • Summer Beats Concert: If you’re in Brentwood, this Rock 70s concert may be perfect for an evening in the park! Food and alcohol trucks available in addition. Event goes from 7-9pm 🍺🌭 

  • Let Them Eat Art: This tongue in cheek celebration of Bastille Day will be located in Downtown Maplewood. Stroll the historic streets while taking in performers, artwork, and savory treats! Event happening from 6-10pm 🍴🎨 

  • Hot To Go - The Chappell Roan Party at Delmar Hall: Calling all Chappell Roan fans and anyone looking for new music! This enticing listening experience will be available at Delmar Hall. Price ranges $17-23. Doors open at 7:30pm 👠 🎤 

  • Rock Opera at Grant’s Farm: Searching for a more spectacle show night? This double feature night at Grant’s Farm features music and drones! “Summer Nights” runs to Labor Day most weekends from 5-10pm. 🌃✨🌟

  • 2025 Open Theme Annual Reception by Webster Arts: this extremely popular show and awards ceremony happens at Webster Arts will feature art from Gonz Jove with light refreshments! Goes from 6:30-8pm 🥂 

Saturday, July 12th

  • 314 Vintage Night Market: This unique shopping and vending experience will have clothing, home goods, and more from the 70s, 80s, and 90s! Food trucks and a DJ will be present. Starts at 5pm 🌙🌌

  • Pride & Prejudice 20th Anniversary + Cocktail Party! : Prepare to be enraptured and entertained in this romantic and classic party featuring “Pride & Prejudice”, photo opportunities, ballgown themes, and cocktails for purchase! Begins at 6pm 🍸

  • Vegan BBQ Fest: If you are a vegan or also simply enjoy vegan fare, this mouthwatering bbq event may be for you! Located in Forest Park, caterers will prepare the best vegan bbq in the Lou with all the fixings, sides, and desserts! Be sure to bring your appetite 😋. Event lasts from 8-10am 🌱🔥 

  • Jigsaw Dating: St. Louis Singles Happy Hour (Ages 25-45+): Single and ready to mingle? Come out to Attic Music Bar for bingo and good conversation…and maybe meet that special someone! Event lasts from 6-8pm 💘 

  • DeepStacks Season Championship 25: Make it a wild card night at this event which will feature the classic game, delectable food, drinks, and a chance to win mega prizes. Event starts at 10am 🎲🎰💸

  • Ladies Night Out at Charlie Vito’s On the Hill: Oh ladies, this one’s for you! Grab your besties and come out for an elegant night toasting each other and making everlasting memories (and possibly new friends 👯‍♀️). Event goes from 5:30-8pm 💃 

Sunday, July 13th

  • Sunday Brunch Cruise: Morning person? This 2 hour cruise will have live entertainment, brunch cuisine, and bottomless champagne 🍾 alongside spectacular river view. Grab your bike and start this gravel trail with coffee and finish with a 26 mile ride and new friends! Cruise goes from 11am-1:30pm 🥞 🚢 

  • Citrus in Sorrento Afternoon Tea at Casa Don Alfonso: During Clayton’s Restaurant Week, you could have an upscale dining experience here, featuring a three course dinner! A Parmesan wheel may also make an appearance. Dinner is served 5-10pm 🍊🫖 

  • Louligan Street Party at Schlafly Tap Room: Love all things STL soccer ⚽️? This one you can’t miss! With food, drinks, and tents street side - come out to meet your neighbors and other fans alike. Goes from 2-6pm 🍻 

  • St. Louis Record Collectors’ Show: Needing to update the records with new sounds? Then come out to peruse this show! Starts at 8:30am 🎶

  • Manchester Community Band - Animals in Music: This lovely outdoor concert will feature animal sounds and performances by The Manchester Community Band! You’ll just have to come out and hear it to get what it’s all about…starts at 6:30pm 🐘🦒🐅

  • St. Stanislaus Summer Picnic: 🎅 That’s right, it’s Christmas in July time and what better way to celebrate than with a classic meal of Polish cuisine! There will also be other Polish cultural items available for purchase. Starts at 11:30am until sold out! 🥟🥧🍲

Shaw Nature Reserve

This hidden gem is a cherished nature treasure trove and will be celebrating 100 years this year! Having begun as 5 joined farms, it provides refuge and preservation for native plant and wild life with the bustling St. Louis industry nearby. It stands as another important part of the Botanical Garden’s efforts to maintain native plant diversity and inspire all generations of the continuous efforts to protect nature. With this year marking a major milestone, and events and celebrations you don’t want to miss! 🎉
