Dirk Staschke

Duane Reed Gallery proudly welcomes the return of Dirk Staschke and his latest series of trompe l’oeil stoneware sculptures and tiles. Staschke is a sculptor and ceramicist inspired by still lives
and subjects of Dutch Vanitas, translating techniques of the old masters into contemporary textures and forced perspective. His current body of work intersects painting and sculpture, illustrating the sides of ceramic vessels with adapted still lives, or building three dimensional framed tableaus.
