Digging Deeper Member Tours
All members are invited to take a tour of some of the Garden’s most special places and behind-the-scenes locations. A different tour is offered each day throughout Member Appreciation Days. Because of the limited capacity, registration is limited to two people per member household, and we ask that you register for only one tour during the week. All tours are $10 per person to attend and space is limited.

Featured Tours
Sophia M. Sachs Butterfly House
Monday, November 9 | 2 p.m.
Take a guided, behind the scenes tour of the Sophia M. Sachs Butterfly House’s Tropical Conservatory and Entomology Lab. Meet staff entomologists, to see how the magic happens! Whether you are taking a selfie with a new bug friend, helping feed 100s of animals, seeing how tropical insects are being sustainably captive-raised, or just admiring our butterflies, moths, or chrysalides up close, there are many new things to discover.
This tour takes place at the Butterfly House, located in Faust Park in Chesterfield.

Peter H. Raven Library
Tuesday, November 10 | 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Join Peter H. Raven Library director Holly Hubenschmidt and her team for a tour of one of the most comprehensive botanical libraries in the world that is open to the public by appointment only.
This tour will depart from the lobby of the Bayer Center, which is located down the block from the main Garden entrance at 4500 Shaw Blvd. A gated parking lot is available.

Garden Greenhouses
Wednesday, November 11 | 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Get a behind-the-scenes look at our greenhouses located in the northwest corner of the Garden. Inside, our horticulturists care for thousands of plants used for display and research.
This tour will depart from the Jack C. Taylor Visitor Center.

Shaw Nature Reserve
Thursday, November 12 | 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Join Shaw Nature Reserve staff for a 1-mile guided hike. You will hear updates, view the new Ozark Ethnobotany Garden and Cabin, and get to tailor this hike to your interests as we share our appreciation for your support.
Please arrive to the Nature Reserve 15 minutes early to check-in at the Visitor Center for additional parking information.

The Herbarium
Thursday, November 12 | 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
The Garden's Herbarium is one of the largest in the world, containing nearly 8 million dried, preserved plant specimens. Go behind the scenes of the Herbarium and learn how plants are collected, preserved, databased, stored, and used for research, including the groundbreaking Revolutionizing Species Identification (RSI) initiative that is digitizing millions of specimens to support plant restoration and conservation worldwide.
This tour will depart from the lobby of the Bayer Center, which is located down the block from the main Garden entrance at 4500 Shaw Blvd. A gated parking lot is available.

William L. Brown Center Showcase
Friday, November 13 | 10 a.m.
Join William L. Brown Center (WLBC) staff for an introduction to ethnobotany and learn how plants shape daily life around the world. Following a brief presentation on the WLBC’s history, research, and conservation work, attendees can view selections from the Biocultural Collection, featuring plant-based artifacts, tools, and household objects that highlight the connections between plants and people.
This showcase wilk take place in Farr Auditorium at the Jack C. Taylor Visitor Center. Free parking is available in the Garden's main lot at 4344 Shaw Blvd.
